to blog or not to blog

ever since this blog started i haven't yet once been to the gym... why? because i spent over an hour each night doing this damn blog that i ended up sleeping in in the morning before work... defeats the whole purpose of me doing this blog which is to monitor my food intake and train hard at the gym...

june 30

9.22am: raisin toast with butter x 2 (forgot to photograph until i ate the first piece)
9.46am: oats with honey, raisins and soy milk x 2 (forgot to take photograph until i ate the first bowl but i was still hungry so i made another)

12.36pm: i don't know what this is called but it is absolutely fantastic! it's a dish at an ethiopian food stall at the fox studios saturday markets... its like a pancake wrap with curry chicken, curry lentils and vegetables like carrots and potatoes... and a mashed lentils type sauce and a special chilli sauce that tastes like a combination of chilli, garlic, and something else... sprinkled with some shallots and a squeeze of lemon! its divine... it might look a bit greasy in the pictures but it is actually quite healthy.. there is not much oil in it at all!! everyone should try this... they are there every wednesday and saturdays and i think they said sunday too...

4.19pm: snacked on a tub of yoghurt with mango topping in the city with geng and dave...
7.40pm: dinner... home cooked...

dish 1: stirfry rump steak with bamboo shoots, shallots and a bit of chilli... one of my favourite dishes to cook because it is easy and healthy
dish 2: geng's specialty... stirfry cucumber with eggs and fish cakes... mum's original and geng has mastered it quite well... also very healthy
dish 3: steamed egg with mince and sprinkle of fried onions (available at all good asian supermarkets... the fried onions that is, not the egg dish) also very healthy...

... and brown rice with my favourite himalayan chilli sauce

9.16pm: glutinous rice balls with black sesame paste on the inside... serve with soy milk and a sprinkle of sugar

6.58pm: entree... money bags, satay chicken (forgot to photograph) + chicken and prawn dumplings... the dumplings are great... kinda like siew mai with chicken in it.

8.30: 1 bourbon coke at bank hotel...
9.58: harry's cafe de wheels for a tiger pie with mashed potato and gravy

dish 2: brocolli and tofu cooked with tin vegetarian chop suey (bamboo shoots, different types of mushrooms, dry tofu and some other stuff) in an oyster sauce...

my favourite condiment : fermented tofu with chilli... and also some really spicy himalayan chilli paste i bought from the paddington markets a while ago...

7.30am: brown toast with butten... dipped in a glass of warm soy milk with milo

11.42am: remaining half packard of baked rice crackers from yesterday.

1.13pm: lunch with people from work at this indian place around the corner called 'jaipur sweet'... kiam bought these fried curry chickpeas and cashews to share.

1.15pm: 'chole bhature' from 'jaipur sweet'... description says plain flour fried bread served with spicy white kawali chick peas... it wasn't bad... just that i didn't like the fried bread and i'd like a bit of meat. the chick peas tasted alright though and the chilli which taste like sambal chilli was delicious. i only found the english menu after i ordered.

8.12pm: homemade pizzas... they all look the same here huh? just a mix and match of the ingredients we have on lebanese bread as base... ham, pineapple, mushrooms, rockets, tomatoes, olives, capsicum, salami and spanish onions... we made 6 of them to share amongst the 4 of us... the one that turned out the best was salami, olives, mushrooms, capsicum and onions... kinda like a supreme... they are the ingredients for a supreme aren't they?

9.16pm: left over pineapples from the pizzas... 2 slices

7.38am: porridge with sultanas, honey and soy milk

1.47pm: beef noodle soup at 'happy chef'' around the corner from work. late lunch... not ideal... nature of my job. 6 hours + 09 minutes without food.

7.56pm: starvin' marvin!!! had a piece of raisin toast with butter while waiting for the pasta to cook.

8.02pm: home made spaghetti bolognese with chopped chilli and parmesan. I cooked the sauce on the weekend and put in freezer to save for days when none of us feels like cooking or are too busy to cook.

thought: not an ideal day considering i only ate 4 things today and didn't eat anything for over 6 hours. eat something at least every 3 hours.
